During the boiler service the engineer will typically work through the following:
- A visual inspection of the heating system will be carried out to look for any areas that may have become damaged or corroded. They will clean key elements of the system at the same time as inspecting them.
- The controls on your boiler will be checked to make sure that they are working correctly and this will also include checking any control panels that you have on your wall that adjust the temperature and operating settings of your heating system.
- The flue will be checked for any signs of damage and they will also measure the combustion gases that are released to ensure that these are within safe parameters. This includes looking at carbon monoxide levels within the system.
- The engineer will also fire up the heating system to check it through the starting up and stopping processes to make sure that all the relevant elements are working as they should be.
Once the service has been completed the engineer will record all the information and provide you with a copy. If any repair issues are noted during the service they will arrange to come back and fix these at a separate time and will be able to give you a quote for these works.
