Deciding to have solar panels installed on the roof of your home is becoming a critical choice for many people. Solar panels offer an excellent way to make an impact in the climate crisis by not only introducing energy savings to yourself but also helping to reduce your carbon footprint and improve the value of your property. Firstly, you should look at your energy consumption. If your energy bills are exceptionally high, you can determine how much solar panels will help reduce this by providing the energy needed directly from the sun. In many cases, some properties find they are putting power back into the National Grid rather than using it.

The type of panel that you have installed on the roof matches the environment that you are currently in. The top-of-the-range solar panels are monocrystalline. These use a single crystal silicon and have exceptionally high efficiency and performance. However, if you are on a budget, then thin film or polycrystalline may be the better option to allow you to have the panels in the first place. The other issue is whether your roof can support the panels. For example, some Townhouse properties cannot have them as their roofs are too small and narrow. This may not always be the case.
