Read Time:3 Minute, 7 Second

When we have guests at home, one key to feel comfortable is to prepare one room comfortable and cozy with all kinds of details. If they are family or friends of a lifetime, we know their tastes and it is easier to make them feel comfortable. But even if they are less known guests, co-workers, distant relatives, in-laws, etc. with a few tricks we can create a very special guest room.

How to decorate guest room?

If our home allows it, it is interesting to allocate a room for guests. You can also combine the use. For example, use it as an office or room to make the iron when we do not have guests. If the room has another use, we should try to fill it as little as possible with junk, or have a method to clear it quickly in case of having guests. It is advisable to keep it always airy, with the bed covered with a quilt to prevent it from becoming dusty and to ensure that the children of the house do not use it as a playroom.

Decoration

As is the case with all rooms, the bed is the most important piece in our room, as always when one travels, it is more difficult to sleep and our guests will appreciate a good bed with good pillows and a firm mattress. It is better to make the bed on the same day as the arrival of our guests. So that the sheets and covers smell clean. We recommend the use of a Nordic comforter since besides being easier to make the bed, many people have allergies to wool blankets. It is important to have an extra blanket or quilt in case it is cold at night. Large red cushions placed on top of the bed and patterned curtains will bring an air of joy to the room, and a small table with a lamp next to it will help to illuminate it more.

Closets

If the guests are going to stay for a few days, they should have enough room to store their clothes. This means empty drawers (at least two) and places in a closet to hang suits, pants, shirts, and dresses. If the guest room does not have a wardrobe, you can buy a bar with support in stores like Ikea and put some hangers in it.

Cleanliness

We should not impose our taste on those of our guests, loading the room with posters, large paintings or strange sculptures or decorating the walls with striking paint or stamped paper. It is preferable to choose neutral colors for the walls and hang with a couple of photos of framed landscapes or posters of unbiased and straightforward things. There are tastes for everything, and those of our guests do not have to coincide with ours. It is interesting to place the right mirror, an alarm clock, and an armchair with a light on the side where you can rest or read.

Refreshment

Now, place a vase of fresh flowers on the dresser. They can be garden flowers, and you do not need a formal bouquet. Another detail is to put a small bowl of fruit, a bottle of mineral water and a glass and a small packet of cookies in the case at some time of the night our guests feel hungry but do not feel confident enough to go and get something out of the kitchen.

Finally,

We should not forget to put a set of towels for each guest. It is preferable to place them on a towel rack in the room, where they can hang them after cleaning. If we can also offer them a bathrobe, they will feel even more spoiled.
